Connie Coker is a school administrator and education technology specialist with broad experience in schools domestically and internationally. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.A. in English and Business before earning her master’s degree in education from Wake Forest University. A Klingenstein Fellow, Connie holds a certificate in Independent School Leadership from Columbia University Teachers College.
Connie has taught in classrooms and led technology integration efforts for Montgomery County Public Schools (MD), Green Acres School (MD), Charlotte Latin School (NC), St. Mary’s School of Annapolis, and St. Anne’s School of Annapolis. She instituted one-to-one iPad programs at two schools, has led teacher professional development sessions for state re-certification and served on the Technology Steering Committee for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. She currently serves as the Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management and Strategy at St. Anne’s School of Annapolis.
A Japan Memorial Fulbright Fellow in 2008, Connie traveled the country of Japan visiting K-12 schools and a university with other select educators to share best educational practices and collaborate across cultures. The following year Connie visited the Institute of Women’s Excellence in Rwamagana, Rwanda to deliver funding and oversee construction of the new science and technology lab at the Rwandan school. As a Connect Rwanda board member, she visited APACOPE School in Kagali during July 2018 to conduct teacher trainings and build upon the foundation of sharing established during the April 2018 APACOPE teacher trip to Maryland.
Her volunteer efforts include site coordinator at Classroom Central (NC), tutor at Community Club in Washington, D.C., and board committee member for the Light House Shelter in Annapolis.
Connie resides in Annapolis with her husband and three young sons.
