“The rural Western part of Rwanda was beautiful,” Kelly Crumrine 5th grade teacher at St. Mary’s Elementary commented after the trip. The APACOPE school generously hosted the American teachers for a day out to the Western part of the country. The day included a ride on the Congo-Nile trail, dinner at TamTam Beach overlooking beautiful Lake Kivu, kids at a small fishing village, as well as a behind the scenes tour of the Rwandan border crossing with the Congo (DRC). Flanked by Rwandan police the group safely experienced insights into Goma, the border city into the DRC.
